- - Uninstall and reinstall under an admin account to stop PIN prompts for System Mechanic.
I am uninstalling Standard System Mechanic because I installed it under a standard user and it is causing terminal windows to continue opening wanting the admin PIN. So I figure I need to uninstall and install in an admin account where everything is registered properly and this continual opening of a terminal window seeking an admin PIN will stop, and I will be able to use System Mechanic as I had used it decades before I allowed subscription to lapse for several months.

I was asked to leave one
I do not think your antivirus part of the software is a grade I demand for my computer. I am uninstalling System Mechanic to install my own antivirus.
When I reinstall System Mechanic, if it trumps my new software, then I will bid System Mechanic farewell. Let's hope this works.

Re-installing System Mechanic
This is driving me mad. Every time I re-install I get a request to "Reactivate" This takes me to the PayPro website where I am asked to pay a new subscription but I already have a 3 year deal direct with Iolo.

Bait and switch with monthly subscription - IOLO has no integrity
Avoid doing business with IOLO. They use deceptive subscription rules when you purchase their software and as part of the purchase automatically sign you up for services you haven't asked for and likely don't want.
It is a $19.95/month subscription for preferred tech support.
They hide the issue in the small print and it automatically renews every month.THEY ARE A TERRIBLE COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH. I HAVE DELETED THEIR SOFTWARE AND WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.
I didn't pick up on that in my receipt from IOLO, and I didn't notice the charge on my credit card for 3 months. I called to ask for it to be refunded; they would not. I have uninstalled their software and will never do business with them again.
I had been a customer since before COVID. Never again.
